Dream Big 36 Special Edition My Interview with Olivia Fleemon

There are people we meet along the way to our dreams that sometimes cross our path that inspire us. I have met several, but one individual stands out by the light that encircles her. Although I've yet had the pleasure of meeting her in person, I can say it's nearly been a year since we met via various mutual friends on the social media hubs. I do hope that I get to finally meet this great lady soon. Olivia Fleemon was gracious enough to allow me to interview her for my column in between her very busy schedule, and thanks to the technology of email we were able to communicate. Whether you know her personally or not, you should keep your eyes open because this girl is going places fast...

Me: How old were you when you first realized what you wanted to be when you grew up?

Olivia: I believe I was 15 at a modeling expo when I realized I wanted to make acting and modeling a career.

Me: Did you have support from loved ones and family about your decision?

Olivia: I did from my parents, my cousin's, and my aunt. But I have haters that unfortunately come from my family too.

Me: What steps did you take to begin your journey?

Olivia: I invested in myself in modeling school in Charlotte NC (John Casablanca's).

Also traveling to LA to work in an acting boot camp.

Me: Have you had help along the way, or have you had to do it all on your own?

Olivia: John Casablanca's was a great help and both of my agencies are awesome too, but my mother has helped me the most answering messages and emails when I'm busy.

Me: What has been the biggest hurdle you've had to take for a leap of faith on your path?

Olivia: Probably believing in myself, I know every artist is their own critic. I have to keep telling myself "I know what I'm doing and I can do it”.

Me: How do you overcome the hardships that try to stop you from achieving your goals?

Olivia: I overcome by working harder, praying harder, and never giving up.

Me: What do you do to relax and take time to collect yourself after a set-back?

Olivia: I relax by taking ballet, writing or crochet ...Oh yea, and Pinterest

Me: Who has been your inspiration that guides you to greatness?

Olivia: My mother, she never gives up on me or my career no matter how aggravated she gets at me .

Me: Where do you see yourself in the near future?

Olivia: In the entertainment industry for sure.

Either as an actress /model, hair /makeup artist, or a writer /director

Me: What advice would you give others who are chasing their dreams?

Olivia: Invest in yourself, believe in yourself, push yourself, and you will succeed .

I want to thank Olivia for sharing her story with me and the Dream Big audience. She gave the best advice for anyone trying to make a solid career in the entertainment business that we all should take note of…

Through hard work and dedication anyone who truly believes in themselves can achieve their goals. It won't happen overnight and no one is going to hand it to you. If you want it bad enough and are dedicated to the journey to get there then you will. All it takes is for you to keep challenging yourself, and dream big.
