It was the day after Thanksgiving and I went on my usual morning walk. The air was thick with a brooding fog laced with smoke from the neighboring mountains. I pondered the day before, grateful for my family that came together at the dinner table to catch up with the ongoings in each of our lives, and laughing at the little things that make us smile. I'm quite fortunate to have such incredible people in my life; my only wish is for their happiness and for them be proud of my achievements, no matter how great or small they may be.
I smiled to myself and continued to walk along the path paved with hope for the future. I looked up to the sound of something large flying overhead; it was a RedTailed Hawk that had perched itself up ahead of me on a nearby tree. I stopped and just watched it looking in my direction, and then it flew over to the lamp post that was on the right of the trail. I had never been able to see a hawk in such close proximity before where I could see it wasn't as bright...
I am so pleased with how Season Two has kicked off, and I'm very excited for you all to meet Tony Campbell, my first guest of this season. I enjoyed working with him and his charming personality really comes out on camera. He is the definition of the word multitalented in the entertainment industry. But don't just take my word on it, you must see it for yourself. I'm truly honored to have Tony Campbell on my Dream Big show, and it's a pleasure to share his dreams with you.
Even if you aren't a jack-of-all-trades, become the master of your talents, and always Dream Big!
The cats are curled up in a giant mass of a fur-ball, the brisk chill in the bedroom keeps them huddled together. I'm sitting up at the head of my bed in my pajamas and the jacket I usually go walking to keep warm. I only added an extra blanket last night when I changed the bed linens, but I have yet to pull the heater fans down from my attic. I try to save as much energy as I possibly can in between seasons, especially when it's not hot enough for fans and not cold enough yet for heaters. If it's not running I'm not paying for it. Although it is really pushing the cold enough for heaters season. I'm not ready for cold winters weather' you can't make me! Nonetheless I will have to come to the stage where I'll need to make sure my kids are warm. I made sure to add another blanket to their beds as well once their clean linens were changed too. Winter here we come.
The cats are sleeping soundly, they are really making me want to curl up with them and take a nap. Alas I'm n...
"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
That is the most iconic quote of one of the most inspirational feminine symbols of our time to represent what is not only good about humanity, but of America as well. She stands for us all to remind us exactly what this country was founded on. Dreams. The freedom to dream what we wanted to dream, to be whatever we wanted to be, to live a life we wanted to have, and to make those choices as we wanted to choose. It was so that we could do it without persecution, without fear of being punished, and without dying in order to simply survive. No one cared who were without food or shelter; they only cared about themselves, and how much money they could make off of the less fortunate. Those were dark times, but then through the mist of night came a beacon. And that beacon was hope.
